About the vacancy

    SCVO’s Growing Climate Confidence project supports third sector organisations in Scotland to reduce carbon emissions and engage their community.

    We have recently secured funding to develop our work with a range of key partners and are seeking a dynamic development officer to help us achieve our three project goals.

Key Responsibilities

    • Work with funders, intermediaries and climate action hubs to engage with their grant-holders and members through events, webinars and one-to-one conversations.
    • Support organisations to develop and implement net zero action plans, signposting relevant funding and training opportunities.
    • Develop case studies and examples of action taken across the sector, and promote these through peer learning events delivered with stakeholders as appropriate.
    • Analyse and report on data from our Net Zero scorecard to provide evidence for action towards Net Zero across the voluntary sector.
    • Working with web and comms teams, analyse feedback on our existing digital tools and develop improvements to enhance the user experience and impact.

Key Competencies

    ​• Demonstrable understanding the climate and nature emergencies, and the policies and actions that voluntary organisations can take to respond.

    • Experience of promoting a project, service or training opportunity and securing new partners/customers.

    • Experience of managing ongoing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers such as expert trainers.

    • Experience in developing, organising and delivering events ranging from training seminars to conferences.

    • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people.

    • The ability to curate knowledge and insight and demonstrating impact from successful projects, and to disseminate this through a range of channels.

    • Experience of working in an agile way to deliver projects.

Desired Qualifications

    • Ability to use storytelling techniques to share and disseminate impact stories
    • Experience of developing digital products and using user research techniques
    • Experience of working in or an understanding of the Scottish voluntary sector
