- To maintain and develop the data network, AV infrastructure and data centres for a world-leading teaching and research centre in informatics, located in the heart of Edinburgh.

- Maintain School’s data network (40%)

Key Competencies
- · The school relies heavily on automation so the ability to write clean, readable, and easily maintainable code is essential
· Good working knowledge of a scripting language (eg Python / Perl)
· Good working knowledge of networking (eg. dns, routing, firewalls)
· Good working knowledge of Linux
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner
· Proven ability to plan and prioritise a busy and demanding workload
· Proven ability to work productively as part of a team and build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels
· Active interest in continuing professional development
