About the vacancy
- The School of Informatics is inviting applications for a Receptionist and Events Assistant to provide general reception and event support to Informatics staff, students and visitors. This post is open ended (permanent) and part-time (21.75 hours per week),working 12.35pm to 5.10pm, Monday to Friday.

- Reception Duties (60%)
Event Duties (30%)
Other duties (10%)
Key Competencies
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using email and the internet.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks within a routine.
Understanding and ability to apply relevant standard procedures, including those governing health and safety.
Previous experience in a relevant customer service role and an understanding of the key behaviours required to deliver high quality customer service.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational Qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus work experience in a relevant role
OR
School education to standard grade or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
Fire Warden and First Aider training
Previous experience of working in a reception, administrative and/or event capacity would be advantageous.
