About the vacancy

    The School of Informatics is inviting applications for a Receptionist and Events Assistant to provide general reception and event support to Informatics staff, students and visitors. This post is open ended (permanent) and part-time (21.75 hours per week),working 12.35pm to 5.10pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

    Reception Duties (60%)
    Event Duties (30%)
    Other duties (10%)

Key Competencies

    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using email and the internet.
    Strong communication skills.
    Ability to prioritise tasks within a routine.
    Understanding and ability to apply relevant standard procedures, including those governing health and safety.
    Previous experience in a relevant customer service role and an understanding of the key behaviours required to deliver high quality customer service.
    Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements

Desired Qualifications

    Vocational Qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus work experience in a relevant role
    OR
    School education to standard grade or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
    Fire Warden and First Aider training
    Previous experience of working in a reception, administrative and/or event capacity would be advantageous.
