About the vacancy

    To support the day-to-day delivery of SCVO’s HR Service including providing up-to-date and best practice HR advice to voluntary sector organisations and supporting the recruitment and retention of HR Service subscribers.

Key Responsibilities

    Respond to HR Service queries by email and in one-to-one video or phone calls, providing advice and guidance, signposting to reliable resources and escalating more complex cases to the HR Service Advisor.

    Contribute to the recruitment and retention of HR Service subscribers, following up new opportunities, administering renewals and through the provision of an excellent service.

    Maintain and update HR Service records and systems (using our CRM system) and working with our finance team to invoice subscriber organisations.

    Keep up to date with HR best practice and use your knowledge and experience to support voluntary sector organisations.

    Contribute to HR policy and HR content development.

    Support HR Service webinars, and the running of our HR Service network and network meetings.

    Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the service.

    Demonstrate a collegiate approach to service delivery.

Key Competencies

    Essential

    CIPD level 3, actively working toward level 5, if not already qualified to level 5

    Foundation, Associate or Chartered member of the CIPD

    Experience of working in an HR role, or a role that requires an understanding of HR.

    A commitment to developing your career in HR.

    Ability to use your knowledge, experience and research skills to provide HR advice and guidance to HR Service subscribers.

    Proactive with a solutions focussed approach.

    A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging.

    Excellent customer relations skills, ability to work within SCVO’s values and our Customer Service Charter

    Good judgement skills, an understanding of when issues need to be escalated to the next level.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Confident user of a digital tools, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, CRM system, Word, Excel and zoom
    Ability to effectively use our customer relations management system (Salesforce).
    An understanding of the issues affecting the Scottish voluntary sector.
    Ability to uphold our values and principles, contributing to an inclusive working environment, striving for environmental sustainability. [CC1]

    Desirable

    Experience of the Scottish voluntary sector
