About the organisation
- Govanhill Baths Community Trust is a grassroots community led organisation. Our aim is to preserve the heritage of Govanhill Baths as a place at the heart of the community, providing a wellbeing centre which tackles health inequalities through recreational, wellbeing and cultural activities. We build community bonds through combatting disadvantage and discrimination and celebrating identity.
How to Apply
About the vacancy
- We’re looking for committed individuals who are keen to help the Trust re-open the Baths, and to contribute to the social, cultural and physical regeneration of Govanhill as a community in the Southside of Glasgow. This recruitment drive is directed specifically towards candidates from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds (BAME+).
Key Responsibilities
- The Board currently meets on a monthly basis, on the first Tuesday, at 6:30pm. The meetings typically run for approximately two hours. We expect regular attendance at meetings, as well as reading reports, draft policies and proposals in advance of meetings.
Key Competencies
- To support our growth and development, we currently want to bring to the Board skills and experience in Facilities Management and Sustainable Buildings, so we will prioritise applicants with a background in this area. In addition, we always value knowledge of our local community. We are currently seeking support in developing an outreach programme to keep people informed about the building redevelopment, and we are doing the groundwork to put systems and procedures in place for when the building reopens.
Desired Qualifications
- No specific qualifications are required.
